Get to know our travellers?

Gemma and Craig (although Craig may have missed out on this trip), full time workers with a life-long travel habit. Flirting with 30 and let loose on the world! Their catch cry states their intentions perfectly…

Make Travel Happen!

For my first big solo trip I decided to travel to a country that was English speaking and not too ‘foreign’ from my home country (Scotland) yet offered different landscapes and experiences.

The United States of America was an obvious choice however getting around the States on a budget is not as easy you’d think considering it is the world’s biggest superpower and richest developed country. This prompted me to buy into group travel for the first time and I loved it.

The tour was a three-week camping trip from San Fransisco to New York with a chunk of the time spent down south. We hiked at Yosemite, partied in Las Vegas, got burnt at Death Valley, cycled around the Grand Canyon, slept under the stars at Monument Valley, left our livers in New Orleans and visited Elvis in Memphis.

The official last minibus stop was NYC but in reality the tour ended at Washington DC. The benefits of this west to east tour was the breadth of the country we covered and the variety of landmarks we saw. The challenges often fall on who is on the tour with you, luckily with the exception of one very ungrateful whining young traveller, our group was good fun and I remain very good friends with one participant today.
